- Seller activates it
Per domain, with duration, down payment and minimum payment as desired. - Buyer chooses the duration
The payment amount is fixed before completion, with no credit check and no bank. - Domain is secured
It goes into our escrow and points to where the buyer wants. - Month after month
Each payment is recorded, both parties can see the status at any time. - Final payment, transfer
With the final payment, the domain transfers to the buyer.
For sellers
- A domain for €12,000 sells poorly. The same domain for €500 per month sells.
- You decide per domain: up to 60 months, down payment in percent, minimum payment.
- If the buyer doesn't pay, the domain returns to you after 7 days grace period. The payments already made remain with you.
- The longer the duration, the lower our commission for you: up to 6 percentage points less.
For buyers
- The domain points to your destination from the first payment. You can start working with it immediately.
- No bank, no credit check, no contract period beyond the installments.
- You see the total cost of the domain before you commit, not just the installment.
- Pay off anytime: pay the rest in one go, then the domain is immediately yours.
What installment purchase costs
Longer payment terms cost the buyer a markup on the price because the money is in transit longer and the default risk increases. The seller receives a lower commission in return. Both figures are shown in the offer before anyone agrees.
| Term | Buyer markup | Commission discount |
|---|---|---|
| up to 12 months | 2.5 % | keiner |
| up to 24 months | 7.5 % | − 2 Prozentpunkte |
| up to 36 months | 12.5 % | − 4 Prozentpunkte |
| beyond that, up to 60 months | 20 % | − 6 Prozentpunkte |
Minimum installment €10. The seller can also set a down payment and their own markup per domain; both are shown in the offer.
Who owns the domain in the meantime?
To the seller, and for as long as installments remain outstanding. The buyer uses it immediately anyway: they control where the domain points via our forwarding, and payments go through our escrow account. Neither party bears any risk.
The buyer decides where the domain points and can change it anytime. It transfers with the final installment. If the buyer withdraws, it goes back to the seller.
The procedure in full is stated in the Lease-to-own terms.
